The weekend of January 17th and 18th, Sue Ramsett and I had the pleasure of being media judges for the annual "Flake Out Festival" in Wisconsin Dells.

From big blocks of snow, the artists were able to create breathtaking sculptures that we were able to judge. The giant Butterfly I have a picture of below, was named champion of the competition. (It was still a work in progress when the picture was taken).

The winner of the Media Choice award is the sculpture that Sue and I had our picture taken with.. it was called “That’s a Moray.” The same sculpture also won the Sculptor’s Choice award, and the People’s Choice award.

It was a great weekend of snow, arts and crafts, food and fun, and this was the first time I had ever been there. I brought my parents with me, who had a great time too.

So do you “Flake Out” in the winter? If you do, what’s your favorite part about it? If you don’t.. what are some of the things you like to do in the winter? I’d really like to try some other events if not this year, next year. Let me know what you suggest!

It was great to see you and Chad out on the bus tour last week. You guys look like you had a great time and I 'm happy I got to talk with both of you. You both make are viewing experience of channnel 7 that much better. Are you both a couple by chance? You both look great together- need to settle a bet with my husband. He says no, I say yes. Thanks so much for your nice compliments! I had a great time on the bus tour, and it was fun to meet a lot of new people. Nope.. Chad and I are not a couple. He's one of my dearest friends. We've been friends for about 11 years now, so it's always a great time when I get to spend some quality time with my Chaddy ;) Thanks for blogging!
