why is there a law for how many dogs you are allowed to have within the city limits....I thought these was the U.S.A.
an not Russia...maybe there should be a law on how many kids you are allowed to have..just look at the Octo-mom...CA has to pay for that.

I think the laws are necessary. I have a relative that owns up to 50 cats, all living in one home, all strays. She has no job, no way to pay for food, vet visits. And now her home is just a pit of diseases and fleas. Something like this needs to be controlled. Unfortunately in my relative's case, the city she lives in won't do anything about the situation. Its the cats who are suffering, and they shouldn't have to.

If you know how to say no, then ,yes the rules are unneccessary. However, if you don't, they're very neccessary. People who can't say no often become hoarders, producing an unhealthy environment for themselves and for the animals they take in. I have no doubt these people mean well, and want to give the animals a good home. They often drown in food bills and vet bills until they can't afford it anymore. Usually, the vet gets dropped and the quality of food goes down. Please, get your pets spayed and neutered!!!

I agree pet owners are held to a higher standard than the average parent. Likewise, both pets and children cause similar issues but when is the last time you saw a dog on probation? Unfortunately they are euthanized for similar offenses. FAIR?

Because most people nowadays can't even take care of themselves, so how can we expect anyone to care for 3 or more dogs?
