New blog...and new baby!

Welcome to my brand new blog!  I’m excited to have the chance to interact with some of you and share some personal thoughts and feelings on a number of subjects - something I hardly get the chance to do on-air.  It’s my intention to update this page frequently, so keep checking back!

I’ve got an easy topic for my first blog entry – my wife Pam and I had a baby girl on January 19th!

You may have seen some pictures and video of Natali Mae last week (thank you to my brave wife for letting a video camera in the hospital room!)  I received a lot of words of wisdom from a lot of other parents out there – but it’s true nothing can totally prepare you for the feeling of being a parent.  Believe it or not, one of the best descriptions of that feeling was one of the last things our former Sports Director, Mike ‘Jocko’ Jacques said to me before he left.  He told me having a child fills a void in you that you never even knew you had, and makes you feel complete.  How true!  (despite the nickname ‘Jocko’, he’s really just a big softy)

With some help from family, Pam and I have been getting sleep when we can and adjusting to parenthood.  Are there any words of wisdom you’ve heard from someone else – or WISH you had heard before you became a parent?  Let me know!
