Brett Favre...Seriously?

Okay, the rumors have started...Brett Favre is getting the "itch to play again"...

Your thoughts...will he scratch the itch and play again...do you want him to play again...or should he just stay retired?

49er fan, Your team stinks ! The Packer organization and Thompson continue to make solid decisions for now and the future and continue to win in the process. They make you and your fellow critics look like the idiots that you are !

Watching the three "stooges" press conference was an insult to Packer fans all over the world. They spent an hour dancing around questions. I was very apparent that when Brett made the retirement speech that he was tired, burned out from paying his heart out for US. Anyone knows that you can't make a life changing decision when you are mentally and physically worn out. He did this, for US for his family. Second thoughts yes and it was obvious all year that the stooges wanted to capitalize on his name yet play THEIR BOY. Plain and simple, if they would have welcomed him back as a starter, he would have come back and yet McCarthy kept avoiding what his position was going to be, in fact never wanted him back. Good for you Brett coming back and making them look like the three stooges they are. We own the packers, let's get rid of THEM. If they were good business men, they would have traded Brett to Chicago or Mpls and what a game that would have been to watch. God Bless you Brett

If Erin Rogers was half a man, he would have graciously stepped down for a couple of years so Brett could continue "the legacy" - what's the difference? Are we really seeing the true "Packer colors" now? When you're there, you're the best.......when you want to come back..you're out? Seems like Brett deserves a whole lot more than that!! Watch the Packer ratings and turn out fall like sky rockets now..........Brett Farve WAS the Green Bay Packers and he's getting a really raw deal!

I am 1 of the biggest Packer Fan and Favre Fan of course! For the past 3 years, who hounds him about retiring? The Press! Let him lead his own life, he will decide whats best for him. I do wish he would stay retired but if he wants to change his mind so let him. Come on Ted bring him back. Cant imagine him playing for someone else. There will never be a player like him and we were fortunate to have Brett play for us all these years. What evevr u decide Brett , I will always be a huge fan and good luck!! Please play for us again if u must play.

I tell you what... If Brett Favre becomes a Viking, I would probably hate him for the rest of my life... I know that doesn't sound fair for all he's given to all Packer fans, including myself, but, oh well, that's the way it would be, I guess. I'm still holding out hope that he would come back to the Pack, if invited, to compete with Aaron Rodgers. Here's what I think should happen... I believe that Aaron Rodgers should push managment to invite Brett back to compete... You are probably thinking, "Why would he want to do that? What of the benefits?" Well, I'll tell ya what the benefits are... First, he would instantly gain respect from fans for taking a chance... Secondly, he could further prove himself... If he plays better than Favre and wins, he shows everyone that he should be the starter. If he loses, he knows that Green Bay isn't his place, and can demand a trade... This is not to say that Brett would accept the offer, but just to put it out there I believe is important.

I have to agree with others..Farve is just needing attention again. I think he should stay retired!! Sure he was a good player but there are more good players out there too. Give the others a chance in the lime light! He chose to retire so be it! Don't let him play anymore. He's had his time and glory now let someone else show their abilities.

49er Fan, Obviously you only went to school for "hot lunch" ! Your knowledge of life, let alone football, is pathetic and not worth debating with the likes of you.

49er Fan, Your replies are more humorous and ignorant than your previous comments. Listening to you , I realize just how good we have it in this "sorry state". It must be a riot looking at yourself in the mirror every morning. Even though Favre has great stats, his playoff record the past 12 years is horrible! He has a passer rating of 77 and in his last 9 games has 18 interceptions. He has lead alot of good teams right in the toilet ! California is calling you, 49er Fan !!! ( By the way, you would NEVER be on my team in battle, Because I am sure you would be the 1st one in line to cross the Canadian border !!!)

By the way 49er fan, Montana/Brett fan/ ed... Boul is spelled B...O...W...L and yeah Joe "The Man" Montana is pretty great and he will always be the man and Young... is pretty great to but, will never take the place of Joe!! Bill... you ARE ignorant if you don't know good quality players when you see them. Yeah, you need to go to Illinois and be a Bears fan. And Brett was a great QB and his time has come to move on... he doesn't deserve to be a back up to Rogers honestly Rogers shouldn't be playing for GB, he sounds like a punk to me. Brett needs to be let go so he can move on.

Posted by: 49er fan Location: your sorry state
bILL I WOULD NEVER GO INTO BATTLE WITH YOU!! IT TAKES ONE MAN TO LEAD GREAT MEN TO VICTORY! THE QB IS THE BOSS!!

Posted by: MONTANA/ BRETT FAN Location: ROTHSCHILD
SOME TIMES BILL IT TAKES A LEADER(INDIVIDUAL) AS YOU SAY TO BRING OUT THE TEAM IN TEAM!! PS JOE DID BEAT THE NINERS!!! THAT TO ME WAS THE SUPER BOUL!!!!ITS ABOUT LOYALTY BILL HE GAVE WE GIVE!! YOU MUST LIVE ALONE LOL TRADE THE THE MAN!!!

Posted by: ed Location: ok
BILL WOW, with the team Joe left for STEVE EVEN rogers COULD WIN A SUPER BOUL!!! aRION IS A JOKE you will see!!!!

I have been one of Farve's most ardent fans but it is about time that he grew up. Yes, he is an awesome football player. HE made the decision to retire in March. If he wanted to come back why did he wait until NOW to do anything about it. The Packers spent all summer grooming Rogers and changing plays for the good of the team. Now Farve expects them to spin on dime to accommodate his desire to play again. Farve is self-centered and egotistic, thinking of only himself. Was that just rhetoric about Packer football being about the TEAM and that it wasn't just he, Farve, who won the games? If Farve really meant that, he would be willing to give Rogers the chance he deserves. Favre would be the back-up quarterback, there to help out the team if needed. Favre is just interested in HIS stats, not the good of the team.

I want the decision to be based on what is best for the Packers. Is it Brett? Is it Aaron? I don't know, but make the decision based on who hurt your feelings less... Brett and TT, put the pride aside and stop acting like a couple 6 year olds.

Posted by: Bill Location: Wausau
Get serious 49er fan. You are showing your ignorance. When Montana left, the back-up quarterback stepped in and went on to a Hall of Fame career and a Super Bowl Championship, his name-- Steve Young. Montana did nothing with K.C. The game is about Team, not Individuals !

If you quit your job could you just go back and say " Oh, I'm sorry new person that does my old job, I want to come back and take my old job back" Umm. I think not. Brett, you retired. go. retire. be brett like in your home and leave Aaron to lead our team. But, if you insist on coming back, fine you can be back-up. If you wanted the lime light, you shouldn't have quit.

Hey Whiner(49er) fan, Leave the state and go fight some fires in another. Brett should be able to compete for his position. If Rogers beats him out and he is in it to keep the streak alive, trade him to allow it, and get some more value out of him. He's the gift, that keeps on giving. I love the "PACK", and Brett too, but this is a business. I agree that there's some minipulating being done and this decision wasn't just made on a whim. I'm confident that the organization and Brett(agent) can come to a decision that, looks equitable to all involved. I would love to see him play for the green and gold another year or two. His presence is enough to give you an 8-8 or better season, and every other team hates to admit it, but is still scared of his potential to DO the UNdoable. Besides all of that, he contiues to sell tix, apparrel and the best organization in the league. Da Bears would take him in a heartbeat, and unfortunately, probably will. They need a QB and mentor for the youngin's.

Posted by: 49er fan Location: your sorry state
think back!! before Brett ! the high school team could beat them!!! he gave you so much cant you give back? do somthing (4) him!!! if not let him go so he can come to wi and beat your sorry *** the coach knows Brett can beat the pack so thats why he will not let him go!! just like Joe the man Montana kicked the 49ers with K.C. 9

Posted by: Bill Location: Wausau
Now you are starting to see the real Brett Favre showing his colors. Packer fans are now getting sick of him and for sure the Packer Organization. It's about time !!!

Posted by: no need Location: rothschild
brett needs to stay retired and out of the media and spot light. in his wholem over dramatic retirement speech he said it was time to move forward and concentrate on his family. so then do it. let your wife scratch your itch.

Posted by: steve Location: seattle
it saddened me deeply two years ago when he was struggling and all the talk that was becoming the norm about how he was washed up.my great joy was renewed last year as he had such a great year,as much as i was saddened to hear of his retirement i reminded myself that unlike most who play maybe one or two years longer than fans think they should my hero would not have to suffer the almost certain remarks and skepticism of most because he went out on top ,after 17 years. as much as i wish he were still with us on sunday i want his legacy to be that which few enjoy ,no disrespectful remarks or astrics by those who want to second guess ,only that he went out on top. hey brett,i love you man...your bro, steve.

When Favre retired I thought it would be good because Aaron Rogers could finaly get a chance to play. I told my friends that if Brett didn't retire soon Aaron Rogers would retire before Brett. But now that I think of it this many months later I kind of hope favre comes back. Watching the game won't be the same without him.

If Brett wants to come back, he should. He brought more fun, excitement and passion to NFL football then any 1 player in the history of the game. He deserves our support whatever his decision is. Personally, I was ready to find something else to do on Sunday afternoons without him leading the Pack.

my football team saw the packers at city stadium in 1952.I love the packers. I loved Farve as the great players he WAS. I can't wait to see Rodgers lead thr team. I will respect Farve more if he stays retired, and gracefully lets it go.

Brett Favre is getting the itch for some public attention again. He loves the media and the media loves him.

Posted by: Suzy Location: Medford
He has Been Toying with retirement for the past 3 years now. Now when Brett ,or someone around him made the Desion to Retire, I felt he wasn't commited to Retirement when he made his speech, He was way to Emotional,But was trying to Convince himself he was Done. Kept saying I know I can Still Play But.... But What,He didn't want too, Maybe He Did Who Knows But Brett Himself. I say Pick Him back up! you never know who will get hurt,Then who do we have to fall back on,So I believe It would be in the Packers Best Interest to Sign Him up Asap. I Hope The Packer Organization Can Place him ,Not Trade Him. I guess Rodgers won't be a Happy Guy, He will Probably ask to be Traded.I Hope They can Resolve It Soon as The Season is just around the Corner. What ever Happens I will always be A Brett Favre Fan Forever!!

Hey, Brett has earned the right to change his mind. The Packers gave him the contract, so they should be amicable to a competition at the QB postion. If Aaron Rogers has a beef with it maybe he should mind his own words and "get on board, or shut up".

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Wausau
Where to start? I am so tired of this guy playing games with his fans. He either needs to retire (which he should) or stay and practice like every other player. The problem with Brett is that he thinks he is above every other player. He WAS once a great player, but should walk away now, while the fans think he is still great. Why does he want to come back? They had a great year and should go out like that. He came back last year to get the records, well he got them, including the most interceptions. Time to let go Brett, and stop playing these mind games with your fans and the Packer organization.
