Ned Yost

With the Brewers on a 4-game losing streak AND a slow start, is it time to show Ned Yost the door?

I'll wait to give my opinion until we get a lot of results in, but with so many expectations this year, it's getting harder and harder to sit back and watch this team play below what they are capable of.

Remember Buck Rodgers was replaced by Harvey Kuenn in 1982 after the Brewers got off to a slow start...hmm...

Your thoughts?

The Brewer players are finally producing like they are capable of, the Yost haters are not yapping now ! Fans make poor General Managers !

Hey look! We finally get to play some games at home and go on a tear! The Yost haters are quiet for now. Pitching has been great, hitting has been better, and we're winning games. And Yost is doing NOTHING different. Weird, huh?

why do fans pronounce Favre as though the r comes before the v? whats going on?

Forget Ned Yost.... Jocko you should make it your personal mission to get Ted Simmons in the Hall of Fame. 400 more hits, 10 more RBI, 100 more doubles, and 25 more triples than Johnny Bench and 20 points higher in career batting average. Even 600 less strikeouts. The fact he is not in Cooperstown is a crime.

Good manager? Yes. Guilty of bonehead moves? Definitely yes. He's coaching like his mentor did in Atlanta, yet he does not have the same veteran squad as his mentor did. I think he's smart but out-thinks himself. If Maddox wasn't such a good pitching coach, I think he'd make a great manager. If playoffs are missed this year, I think it will be time to change for the sake of change. Of course, you wrote your blog after a 4 game shnide and I wrote this after they won 4 of 6. I'm just tired of the blown saves!

Ned is fine... We wouldn't even be having this discussion if the players were hitting something NEAR what they are supposedly capable of.

I think Yost is doing the right things (for the most part, no one is perfect) but they players are letting him down. They need to have one of those “rainouts” like Kevin Costner set up in Bull Durham. Burn off some stress and remember it’s a game, it’s fun, and RELAX. Stop swinging out of your shoes and take a nice easy stroke.

The musical chairs played with managers and coaches in professional sports is ridiculous. Ned Yost's on and off field tactics are very sound. When do we make the spoiled high priced players accountable for their performances? Managers are given both too much credit and criticism for players performances.

I don't see it as a managerial problem as much as I see it as a "talent" problem. Weeks is a career .244 hitter. Hardy had a great first 1/2 last year, but other than that has always struggled to hit .200. Hall is the right handed Russell Branyan..."All or nothing". Prince and Braun are legit, but are under performing. We were told at the beginning of this year that we had great depth at pitching, but only Sheets seems to be able to last more than 4 or 5 innings. Maybe firing Yost shakes things up, but I think it's like getting new deck chairs for the Titanic. Maybe the Titanic is a bad example, I doubt this team could even hit an iceberg at this point.

I think Ned is doing a tremendous job. After suffering with horrible teams since the 1980's we finally get a group of guys that are showing some potential and the first thing everybody wants to do is fire the manager at the first sign of a rough patch. Ned has the right temperment for these young players, he knows how to get on them when they need it without acting like a 2 year old like LaRussa or Pinnella. I am having alot of fun watching these guys come of age and the last thing we need to do is mess it up by replacing the manager. It is not his fault that Prince and Ryan are slumping, or that all of the starters other than Sheets are struggling. It is a long season and I believe that they will be there at the end. Then we will see everybody jumping on the Ned bandwagon.

Yost has done nothing in 4 plus years as manager. Team has alot of young talent that it is being mismanaged by stupid late inning moves by the manager. Got off to a fast start last year than basically choked in August and September. Bring in Don Money as manager.

He should never have been hired in the first place. He should have been fired as soon as Joe Girardi became available. We're wasting time!
