2011 Storm Spotter Schedules

Even though the winter season won't seem to go away, eventually spring will arrive, and with it will come the threat for severe weather.

Each spring National Weather Service (NWS) offices conduct Spotter training across the U.S.  Spotters are the "eyes and ears" of the NWS and provide a great service to everyone by giving updates on storm conditions as threatening conditions develop and occur.

The locations of the spotter training sessions in a given area are determined according to which NWS has local jurisdiction.

If you live in Vilas, Oneida, Forest, Lincoln, Langlade, Marathon, Shawano, Menominee, Wood, Portage, Waupaca, or Waushara Counties, the sessions are conducted by the NWS in Green Bay, click here for the link to the current schedule.

If you live in Taylor, Clark, Juneau, or Adams Counties, the spotter training sessions will be conducted by the NWS office in La Crosse, click here for the link to that schedule.

If you live in Price County, the NWS in Duluth will handle the sessions, click here to see that schedule.

I am seeing Thunder Snow, with thunder and lighting at my apartment building, and has been going on for the last 15 min or so.
