Weather Radio Safety program

One sure sign of spring of course is the baseball season getting underway. After being on the west coast in San Francisco, the Brewers will head home to take on the Cubs at Miller Park this weekend. Many folks will be out tailgating prior to the first home game and it appears the weather will cooperate. A little cool by April standards but at least it should be dry with pre-game temperatures in the lower to mid 40s, and the high likely reaching the upper 40s around first pitch time at 3:05pm. As seems to be the case during the early weeks of the season, the roof will likely be closed at Miller Park until temperatures moderate more to the range of the 60s or 70s during the day and at least in the 50s at night. Safe to say, whenever you are heading to a Brewers home game, it won't be cancelled because of rain.
Meantime, with the warmer temperatures down the road will come the return of pollen in the air. Allergy suffers rejoice during the colder months, but of course it comes with the territory once those flowers start to blossom and the trees work to gain their leaves. Fortunately for me, I don't start feeling the effects until the summer months, which is good because I love being outside when those sunny and 70 degree days are here.
Last but not least, and most noticeable in the weather lab is the transition from talking about severe winter weather to severe thunderstorms. Severe Weather Awareness week will be taking place in the Badger State April 20-24th and I'll jump into more detail on how you should prepare for these spring and summer time storms in a couple weeks. Regardless of when the first Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado Warnings occur, we'll keep you ahead of the storms on our 24/7 weather channel.
For now, I'll be cheering on my Phillies to defend their championship title and look forward to spending the weekends with the ballgames on while I'm hard at work :-)
