Enough Brewer Blame to Go Around

As I write this, the Milwaukee Brewers have just been swept by the Astros.  A few days after Houston traded away it's Ace and longtime 1st baseman, admitting the season's over and it's time to rebuild.

So who's to blame for the second season in a row officially becoming a disappointment?  In my humble opinion, there's enough of it to go around.

Owner Mark Attanasio - Should have stepped in and ordered Ken Macha be fired after the Giants swept his team in Milwaukee in July.  They didn't seem interested in playing, much less winning.

GM Doug Melvin - A losing record, one wild card trip to the playoffs and repeated misses on putting together a decent group of pitchers (Gagne, Suppan, Linebrink, Suppan, Davis, Suppan, Hawkins and have I mentioned Suppan?) in 8 years just doesn't cut it, even in a small market.

Manager Ken Macha - I think I'm starting to agree with some of the message board people who say he can't work in the NL.

Pitching Coach Rick Peterson - Wasn't this guy called "a guru" when the Brewers hired him?  Haven't seen it yet.

Pitcher Manny Parra - You have to be tough to play in the majors.  I don't think Parra has the mental toughness.  And I'm really getting sick of hearing about his potential as he's getting shelled.

Players Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder and Carlos Gomez - I don't know them, but I believe Braun and Fielder would be the first to tell you they are not playing up to their full potential this year.  Especially when there are runners in scoring position.  As for Carlos Gomez.  He lost me when "showboated" when hitting a home run with his team down by a ton of runs to Minnesota.

The Milwaukee Media -  How long will the Richie Sexson trade get Doug Melvin a free pass in your critiques?

OK, that's my view on the disappointing season.  What's yours?  You know what to do.
