Just a few odds and ends for you again this week.
The Yo Yo guy who duped us on Sunrise 7 is now working his magic at Missouri TV stations. It's all over the internet. All I can say to my fellow morning anchors down there is "welcome to the club." I won't put a link up for you, it's the same nonsense you saw right here.
Someone burned the American Flag that my Dad keeps, or now used to keep, hanging on a pole attached to my folks house in Fond du Lac. Just set it on fire, while it was still on the house. The flag was destroyed and a shrub underneath received some major scorching. Luckily, the house itself didn't catch fire. They first noticed it the next morning. While I would never do it myself, I can at least appreciate people who would say flag burning has to stay legal as part of freedom of speech. But to set it on fire in the middle of the night while it's still on a poll attached to house? And it probable wasn't in protest of anything, it was kids or a "bar time" stunt. That's moronic! By the way, the police told them they'd probably never find who did it.
Did you see Betty White on Saturday Night Live? At nearly 90-years-old, she has not lost any of her comedic timing. It's the best episode I've seen in years.
Speaking of TV, if you have HBO, you'll really want to check out the mini-series "The Pacific" about the fighting in the Pacific Theater in WWII. It's absolutely brilliant.
I'll be out of here a few days this week, taking a course in management at UW Madison. It starts at 8am Tuesday morning. So, I'm getting up at 4am to leave at 5am, giving myself an extra hour for traffic and finding the place. The sad thing is for everyone else, getting up at 4am is tough. For me, it's sleeping in compared to my normal shift.
Want to talk about anything? You know what to do. But, I won't be able to respond this week, because I'll be out of town.
