It's great to be back! OK, not really, but that's what people always say after a long vacation, so I'll keep the tradition going.
I won't bore you to tears with too many stories or pics from my recent Holiday Travels trip to Hawaii. But here are a few highlights and snapshots.
Sue Ramsett's husband Chris told me to take Kleenix along to the Arizona Memorial and he's absolutely right. It's overwhelming and all the reverance people show at the memorial is competely deserved. Not just for the people who lost their lives on "the date that will live in infamy" but for all the people who lost their lives in WWII as well.
Beaches in our 50th state may be the best in the world.
This is from what I call the ultimate vacation day. After the breakfast buffet I sat at the pool all day until dinner. A waitress brought food and strawberry margarita's, ah I mean straberry smoothies, right to my lounge chair. The ultimate in relaxation!
We got really lucky on whale watching; seeing blow holes, fins, tails or jumping from more then 25 of them. The really good news is a member of The Pacific Whale Foundation told me the number of Hump Back Whales is back up to before whaling began.
And as always, everyone in the group was great! These are the folks from here in North Central Wisconsin. We were hooked up with another group from a Toledo TV station and they were very nice as well.
Thanks again to the station for letting me host the trip, Holiday Vacations for doing a great job as usual and to everyone who went along for making it a great time. If you ever get the chance to head to Hawaii, take it. It truely is paradise!
By the way, for those of you wondering, I gained back 7.5lbs of the 42 I lost before the trip. I didn't think that was too bad for a 2 week vacation that included lots of breakfast buffets and strawberry margaritas, ah I mean strawberry smoothies. I managed to get on a treadmill most of the days in Hawaii. It's a lot easier to get on that stupid machine when it overlooks the ocean than when it overlooks the basement wall back at home. I have 5 of the 7.5 vacation pounds taken off as of writing this blog. Now, if I could find a way to live like I did in Hawaii and still lose weight, that would REALLY be paradise!
