In church Sunday morning, about halfway through the service, someone's cell phone went off.
An older guy, maybe in his 70's, sitting about halfway to the front, gets up and starts slowly walking out and before he gets to the door, says "Hello?" in a big booming voice that could be heard throughout much of the church.
It caused a lot of chuckling among the people by whom I was sitting. On the other hand, the preacher, who's a very nice, kind, gentle man, looked like he was ready to chew metal.
Then, a little while later, another cell phone went off behind me. It was much quieter and the lady knew enough to walk completely out of church before answering it.
I would love to rail against these people. But, I'll hold back because I know there will be someday I forget to turn mine to vibrate and it will go off. I leave my personal one in the car, but have to carry my work cell all the time. It's the price of being in management.
Ironically, the phones went off in a service where the sermon was about not being self important.
But is that some sort of record? 2 cells going off in one 1:15 service? Has that ever happened at your church/temple/mosque?
