I Have No Doubt, He'll be Back

I fully expect Brett Favre to play again next year.

Clearly, he had a great season and was having the time of his life. I don't care how often he's quoted by ESPN saying it's "highly unlike" he'll be back. I believe he'll decide he wants to play again once the bruises from the nasty NFC Championship game heal. Plus, the Vikings have shown they won't make him come to OTA's or training camp. The $12.5 million he would earn next year would probably help entice him into the 2011 season as well.

As for this year, it really surprised me. I warned all my Vikings fan friends when Favre signed, that along with the 5 spectacular throw games come the 5 interception games. I don't know if it was coaching, having Peterson in the backfield, his age, his offensive line, or what... But, up until the interception that essentially ended the year for Minnesota, Favre's bad decisions were gone.

As for that final mistake, yes I cheered loudly when it happened. As I expect Vikings fans cheered two years ago when he did it for the Packers. (Why is it that I REALLY want other Big 10 football teams to win their bowl games, but REALLY want other NFC North teams to lose in the playoffs?) But Minnesota fans will not hear any smack talk about it from me. Because I remember how rotten it felt afterward, so I'm not going to kick a fan when he or she is down.
