Sorry about the delay in getting you a new blog.  Between covering the Neumann trial and a few vacation days, I've been pretty busy.

I guess we can start with the Neumann trial. I've been going back and forth in my head, debating whether I should give my opinion on it.  After a lot of self debate, sorry I'll just keep my views to myself.  Especially since we probably have another Neumann trial to cover.  I will say it was one of the toughest stories I've covered in a long time.  Listening to testimony of what that little girl went through the last hours of her life was gut-wrenching.

I finally went to see Star Trek.  It was good, not great, but good.  Here's why...  The special effects were spectacular.  But I thought the actors who played Kirk and Chekov were way over the top.  And a good Star Trek, no matter if it's the original, Next Generation or whichever incarnation always has a good ethical, heartfelt, moralistic story-line.  This movie had non of that.

Did you see the "Artist of the Decade" tribute to George Strait? I did and thought it was great!  Normally I don't like it when other singers sing someone else's song.  If I want to hear George Strait's "Let's Fall to Pieces Together" I want to hear it from George Strait.  But I really dug the personal twist every singer gave to his songs.  Especially Jamie Foxx putting an R & B spin on "You Look so Good in Love."

I'm having my porch fixed this week.  The stairs and part of the porch itself have sunk over the years.  The company I hired will replace the stairs and put a new top on the sinking part of the porch, taking steps to make sure they don't sink again.  It's an expensive, messy process.  But it will be worth it for my home's value and curb appeal in the long run. (I hope)

I have a cousin getting married this weekend.  As much as I don't look forward to putting on a suit when I don't have to, I'm really looking forward to the wedding.  It seems like the older I get, the fewer and farther between are the chances to see some of my distant relatives.  The only time I do is weddings and funerals.  And weddings are a lot more fun, aren't they? Congrats Mike and Stacy!

Well, that's about it this week.

If you have anything to add, you know what to do.

J

I thought I heard you one day this week say something about adding red pepper to your bird feeder to keep the squirrels out? I was wondering if it is crushed red pepper and how much do you add to the bird feed? Do the birds eat the red pepper? Could you please get back to me as I have the same problem and would appreciate a solution as I am sure the birds would! Thanks Jeff!

J. What more can be said about people like the Neumann's that already hasn't been said. Words can't describe people like that. Can you imagine having to depend on or trusting people like the Neumann's, for anything. I am so glad the Judicial system is taking care of people who think they are above the law and human decensy.
