Hi all...
Here are my thoughts on this Monday morning.
The problem with painting a room is that it makes the rest of the rooms in your house look really dirty and outdated. I started a month ago with my bedroom. (OK, I watched people paint it as I recovered from my appendectomy, but it still counts) The next weekend, I helped my folks do their living room. Then, it was on to my home office and this last weekend was my living room. Now, my dining room, hallway, kitchen and bathroom really appear to need it! But, I think I need to be done with painting for a while. This morning my shoulder and neck hurt (what's weird is that it's on my left side and I roll the roller with my right) and I'm really tired, so I think it's time to put indoor household projects on hold for a while and start working outside.
Nice to see the Brewers win a couple of series in a row. Hopefully, they've turned the corner from the rough start. Ryan Braun is on a tear at the plate. He's such a natural athlete. I wish I had half his natural ability.
This morning I heard two experts on the radio say the Packers had a VERY GOOD NFL draft. And they weren't locals, they were national guys who both brought up Green Bay when asked who they thought made the best choices. Hopefully, that will pan out over the next few years.
The Wisconsin Broadcaster Association annual awards are this weekend. We're finalists in 21 categories. Selfishly, I'm most focused on the one for community impact. Because our "Share Your Holidays" food drive, which I sort of run is a finalist. My story on the soldier coming home from Iraq to meet his newborn son is up for best feature. The Brokaw chemical spill which I anchored is in the running for best coverage of breaking news. And our webcast special on Brett Favre's "retirement" is in the running in the new media category. Again, it's really selfish, but when someone tells you it's an honor just to be nominated, HE'S LYING!
OK, let's end with a little gripe. ENOUGH WITH THE TWITTER ALREADY!

No problem, Kevin. Thanks for the responses. J
Native Americans are certainly not the only ones who allow smoking in their businesses. As for the smoking ban itself, I was always against it. I thought the free market should decide. IE: If a bar goes smoke free it may get a lot of customers. But then I had a chance to go to the real "Cheers" in Boston. (from the great TV show) And bars in Boston were already no smoking. It was marvelous to set in the pub all night and not have my clothes smelling like an ashtray. Bottom line is your right to smoke stops at my right to have clean lungs. J
Pretty much any subject is fair game, as long as we keep it respectful. As for the soldier shootings in Iraq, it's not local and we really didn't cover it. You might be better served on this story at www.cbsnews.com J
Thanks for the post. There really are all kinds on the internet, aren't there. J
