Went to the red carpet premiere for Disney's "Earth" at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood on Saturday, April 18th. Our cameraman, Branden, brought his brother Sean along to do some additional camera work. We started the trip off with a visit to Tommy's, the Burger Joint to the Stars, for a pre-carpet feast. Didn't see anyone famous, though. Arrived at the premiere an hour early to get a parking spot and gauge the crowd. The artist Wyland was going to unveil his "Earth" inspired 4,000 ft. painting, and to do this they had to close traffic on Sunset Boulevard. The weather was unseasonably hot - 85 degrees! Not everyone on the list of "Scheduled to Appear" made an appearance. Joslyn Pennywell was willing to talk about anything, including how she is "going green" and how she is moving on since being eliminated on America's Next Top Model. The carpet closed with Michelle Harris, the host and co-creator of the television program "Alive & Well", explaining that her designer purse was made from recycled seatbelts.

"Earth", which is a movie adaption of the BBC's landmark series "Planet Earth", is the first movie from Disney's new DisneyNature division. The division is headed by one of the co-producers of Disney's Oscar-winning "March of the Penguins", and is going to produce environmental and wildlife-themed movies. Should be some good stuff!
