If you were watching ESPN at all earlier this evening, you would have thought something fatal happened to Brett Favre. Overkill by the worldwide leader.
The only thing that died was Favre's consecutive starts streak. A bum shoulder ending his streak at 297 games.
That being said, 297 straight starts is pretty incredible...321 if you include playoff games. He's started every game since I was a senior in high school and 16 years old, I'm 35 now. Sprained ankles, bruised foots, broken thumbs, concussions, you named it he's played through it all. And it took a big shot and the loss of feeling in his right arm to finally send him to the sideline.
The big question now is, will he suit up ever again. I don't mean return for the 2011 season. I mean, will we see him at all over the final three games?
Until next time...
