I needed to clean out a few old messages from my voice mail today, and here are a few good ones I decided to hang on to for a while.  For each of the three phone calls, the caller's remarks are in quotes and my response is in CAPS.  I'm thinking this could be a regular thing  ;)

"Good morning, this is _____ calling.  I'm just calling to thank the sports department at Channel 7 for following the _____ volleyball team.  You guys, every night after the games, we come home and we watch your newscast.  I tell you , ___ never has anything on.  So we really appreaciate the support you guys give us.  Just appreciate that, thank you.  And that's the only reason I'm calling.  Have a great day.  Thank you."--REALLY MADE MY DAY TO GET A NICE CALL LIKE THIS ONE

"You're just the person I wanna talk to.  I wanna complain.  I am sick and tired of your schnide, sarcastic remarks about Brett Favre.  Get over it.  He is gone, the Packers did him dirt.  He's gone.  Just get over yourself.  You could have mentioned tonight that he did throw his 500th touchdown pass, something that's never been done.  But you chose only to deride him again.  Get over yourself."-- I DO TAKE SOME POT SHOTS AT FAVRE AT TIMES.  BUT AT THE TIME OF THIS PHONE CALL, THE VIKINGS WERE DOWN 12-0 TO THE JETS.  AS I WAS TOSSING TO COMMERCIAL, FAVRE THREW HIS 500TH TD PASS TO RANDY MOSS AND I DID MENTION IT  :)

"Dale, I just want to give you some creative criticism.  I really think you ought to save schlop like that for YouTube or Facebook.  That piece tonight about training for the Packers was really a waste of everyone's time and it's the reason I never really plan to watch your station anymore.  Thank you."--THIS WAS IN RESPONSE TO ERIC RAJALA'S FUN PIECE ABOUT HIM WORKING OUT AND TRAINING TO BE A REPLACEMENT PLAYER FOR THE PACKERS IF THERE'S A LOCKOUT.  I THINK WE'RE ALLOWED TO HAVE A LITTLE FUN IN SPORTS...DO YOU WANT GLOOM AND DOOM ALL DAY?
