The Packers' 2010 schedule was released on Tuesday. Isn't it amazing how the NFL schedule release has become a "party" of sorts in the sporting world?
Anyhow, as it stands right now, their sked is ranked as the 22nd hardest, or 10th easiest, however you want to look at it. 3 Sunday night games on the peacock network and a Monday Nighter on ESPN. Plus, two other games that are 3:15 starts that will be seen in 80-90% of the country as FOX's national headliner. The Packers getting lots of love from the networks. The most important thing to coach McCarthy is probably the fact that 15 of the 16 games are on Sunday, so he'll be able to maintain a regular schedule throughout the season.
The bye comes in week 10, just after the midway point of the season. It's the latest the Packers have ever had a bye week. In comparison, last season's bye was week 5. They'll need to use the bye wisely, because 4 of their next 5 after the bye are on the road, starting with the Vikings.
First time since 1985 the Pack will play both New York teams in the same season.
6 of the opponents are playoff teams from a year ago, and this will be the first time in the history of the rivalry the Packers-Bears will end the regular season.
Next up is the draft...wonder what Teddy T has up his sleeve this year?
Until next time...
