Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was pulled over last Saturday night for going at 109 MPH in Edina, MN.
That's 109 Miles Per Hour! In a 55 MPH speed zone.
He was given a citation, and allowed to drive away. Are you kidding. They let him drive off after that? What would happen if you or I were clocked at 109? Guarantee you I'd lose my job, license taken away on the spot and probably taken to jail.
I don't know the law in Minnesota and don't pretend to. But if you're the officer, don't you have to take him to the courthouse at least for show. The next person that gets arrested for speeding in MN has this little feather in their cap, don't you think, and could get off the hook.
He was late for his curfew at the team hotel on the night before a game.
This astounds me in two ways...he was going 54MPH faster than the posted speed limit AND he was allowed to drive off.
To top it off, the officer shake's A.P.'s hand and says "good luck tomorrow."
