I know there's no copyright on nicknames, at least I don't think. But Aaron Rodgers should NOT be called A-rod. That's a nickname that belongs to Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez. I heard someone last week say A-Rodg, but even that's too similar.
How about 12-gauge? He wears #12, he has a rifle for an arm, and a lot of times he lines up in the shotgun formation.
Or Ocean's 12...since he's from California and has a "surfer dude" mentality?
Any suggestions?
Oh, and I've never called the Chargers' LaDainian Tomlinson "L.T." That's a nickname that belongs to Lawrence Taylor, and there's not a man in the NFL bad enough to take it away from him.
