Packers Draft Weekend

The Packers draft has come and gone, and raise your hand if you were SHOCKED Ted Thompson traded up to get another pick in the first round?  Yeah, me too.

The Packers seem intent on not getting run over this year.  The selection of Raji proves that.  Can he make an immediate impact?  Then Thompson gives up a 2nd and two 3rd rd picks to move back into the 1st round for Clay Matthews.  He played defensive end at USC...he has the schooling from USC which is better than a select few NFL teams, and he has the pedigree, Dad Clay and uncle Bruce.  TJ lang-- I keep reading hes a later round pick and plays a little stiff, but the Pack took him in the 4th, did they jump the gun too soon?  FB Quinn Johnson has the reputation of the best blocking FB in the draft, which is what Ryan Grant needs.  Jamon Meredith wasn't liked much at South Carolina, even benched, supposedly a bad locker room guy, the vets won't stand for that.  Jarius Wynn, Brandon Underwood and Brad Jones--can't say/don't know too much about them, but they'll have a tough time making the team.

And congrats to Mosinee's Kole Heckendorf.  He went undrafted, but signed with the Packers at the end of the draft as a free agent and will head to Rookie camp this weekend (May 1-3).  He was a record-setting receiver at D2 North Dakota State.  Let's cheer him on to make an impact, turn some heads and make the team.

What are your thoughts?
