McCarthy, Thompson Not Going Anywhere...for Now
Some people are calling for Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson to be let go. Save your oxygen, not going to happen, mark my words.
Last seasons 13-3 mark earns them a mulligan this season, like it or not. Thompson inherited a 4-and-12 team and in two seasons, had them one win from the Super Bowl.
Have the Pack regressed this year? Absolutely! Because of letting Brett Favre go? NO!
Its other personnel decisions that have cost the Pack...failure to upgrade the o-line, defensive line and yes, the punter too. This off-season will be the biggest for Thompson and McCarthy.
Right now, the Packers are about $10-million under the cap, give or take a million or two, which will go up this off-seaosn.
Thompson better be smart and sign a playmaker, or two. And for pete's sake, move up in the draft and not down! Obviously right now quantity is not better than quality.
No mulligans allowed next season.
