A rather large solar storm erupted this past weekend and a huge solar flare erupted and is headed toward Earth for today and into the next day or so. While this Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is not going to hit the Earth directly, it will be a glancing blow enough to cause disruptions with satellites and possibly power grids and other types of communication here on Earth. In addition, these CME's can be hazardous to the astronauts that are on the Internation Space Station.
If you end up with a lot of disruptions with things like cell phones, nod to the sky and thank this massive CME for the problems it may be causing!
