Space Shuttle Enterprise Arrives in New York City

The Space Shuttle Enterprise took its "final flight" Friday, from the Smithsonian to New York City, where it will eventually end up at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. I have blogged about the shuttles before, and I still have a hard time believing the flights to space are done!

So, what's next? Until the newer Spacecraft System is ready (Orion), NASA will be contracting with the Russian Federal Space Agency to use Soyuz Rockets for sending astronauts into space. The Orion Spacecraft System, may not be ready for manned operations until possibly 2020, so NASA will be using the Russian Federal Space Agency quite a bit in the years ahead.
