Update 4PM- Looks like the Aurora Acitivity Level may be as strong as a 5 on the kP scale. That would push the Northern Lights viewable distance a bit farthern south for this evening, assuming this current strength holds as darkness arrives several hours later. Right now, the cloud cover is still rather "non existent" upstream for us at this time.
Once again, the Northern Lights may be viewable tonight, but there will be a few factors that exist tonight, compared to last night's excellent viewing.
Positives: the Moon is only 3% visible, coming off of a New Moon just a few nights ago
Negatives: clouds will eventually move into the area, obscuring the view. In addition, solar storm is not expected to be as strong as last night, which would limit the color and distances at which, the Northern Lights will be viewable.
This shows where the best chances of viewing will be for this evening, mainly in the northern third of Wisconsin, and especially in Southern Canada. If you are out and out and outside of the city limits tonight, it will be worth a gander, just realize the later we go into the evening, the more the cloud cover moving in will hamper viewing.
