Once again, another April Fools' Day is just about here, and I thought I would blog about some of the pranks I have either pulled, or had pulled on me. (I am withholding a few of them over the years, because of what was done)... so here's some of the list. Please feel free to share ones that you have experienced in your life, as I am always looking for more material for next year. These are in no particular order:
***Note: this is for entertainment purposes only, and should not be done unless you are willing to accept all consequences from such action!!! WSAW, NewsChannel 7 and Chad Franzen accepts NO responsibilities from those listed below. Please, use at your own risk!***
- Dead Computer:
Take a screen grab of a "blue screen of death" on your co-workers computer, and either set it as the desktop image,,, or for more "fun", set it as the screen saver. Make sure you set up a camera or hide nearby to hear and see your co-workers reaction!
- Locker Room Fun:
Those of you in school with lockers and access to your neighbor (or friend's) locker combination... take a plastic cup, cut the bottom off of it, tape it to the locker, then tape the bottom of the cup (same piece of tape) and run it to the locker's door. Fill cup full or marbles, or some other annoying thing that makes a scene. The goal is to make that tape as short as possible, that when the locker door is fully opened, the tape pulls off the bottom of the cup and the stuff inside spills all over in someone's locker. Do NOT use fluids, as this will ruin the contents inside! (thanks to my older brother for that one!)
- Makin' Copies:
Take a photocopy of something like a paper clip, posti note, etc... and then run about 30 of the same copies of it. Then put those back into the copier's paper supply, so that when people run photocopies, they will continually search in and around the copier's scan area wondering where that stuff was coming from!
- Quick Change:
Depending on what you wear for a uniform, clothing, attire for a day, take several small and similar articles of clothing and slow switch them out throughout the day. For me, it is something like taking 7 somewhat similar ties, and then slowly switching them while co-workers aren't watching. By the end of the day, they'll be asking if you've changed clothes, which of course, you deny!
- Sorry, Wrong Number:
If you have a work environment where it is possible to access other co-worker's phone lines, you can switch their phone lines around, where someone calling for Person #1, has their calls going to Person #2 and vice versa. Do NOT do this in a place of business that consistently uses phones and specific phone numbers/lines.
- "Mouse" Trap:
In the old days, most computer mice actually had little rubber balls in them, and you could just simply remove them from the mouse, and watch and laugh as your co-workers tries to operate it. While there are still some of those around, many have moved on to "laser" mice. This is still rather easy to manipulate, just place a piece of dark tape over the laser tracking system and watch them frantically try to move the mouse around their screen. Don't wanna mess with the mouse directly? You can go into the Control Panel and switch the settings around on the mouse and have some fun that way. Laptop users with trackpads, switch the settings from right handed operation to left handed operation. Watch as left clicks, become right and vice versa!
Again, by NO means am I telling you to go and do this to your family members, friends, co-workers, etc. These are just things that I have done/experienced in the past for a few giggles in years past.
Anyone else have any that they have done with regular laughs and success?
