UPDATE:
Fog and clouds delayed the shuttle landing and now it's scheduled to come in at 8:08am CDT, which will take it over Montana and Kansas instead of Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc. There was too much fog for the earlier landing, hence the delay.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Just when we thought the sky was falling from the meteorite incident last week, we may just be able to hear and see a bit of something else in the sky early Tuesday morning. This time, it would be the Space Shuttle causing a sonic boom from coming in for a landing all the way down in Florida. There also my be two booms, one from the shuttle's nose and one from the tail... so listen for two. In addition, you should be able to see it moving/streaking across the sky and it should look orangish in color due to the "burning" effect from the Earth's atmosphere.
Keep in mind, this is a tentative schedule/landing, as it will depend on the weather conditions in Florida in the morning. From what I looked at down there and forecasted, I'm giving it a 80% chance of an 6:34am (7:34 edt) landing early Tuesday morning (keep in mind, that's landing time in Florida, for us, we'll be able to see it just after 6am!). Now, should that time hold, the scheduled path of the shuttle's re-entry would take it over parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois. Those of you in our southern counties will have the best chance of hearing/seeing the shuttle's final approach.

As you can see, the path and times are approximate, but since there should be some clearing in the clouds, I think there's a chance we'll see and maybe hear the shuttle as it goes screaming across the early morning sky around 6:10am to 6:20am Tuesday morning.
I wish I was a professional photographer like Dave Kallaway, who can get pics from digital cameras to turn out. I'll try to snap a few pics in the morning ,but I dunno if the will turn out.
If you grab some pics and/or hear some sound... let us know!
