Mea Culpa! I said this a few times today during the Noon Show... if only my Latin Teacher Mr. Evans saw this (if you're reading Mr. Evans, Salve!). Mea Culpa (meh ah cul pa) in Latin means "my fault" or in today's vernacular, "my bad". LOL In any case, this has to do with the forecast from yesterday... lemme explain-
I originally thought that the cold front would make it as far south as highway 29 during the day which would make the forecast/weather much different than if the front stalled out farther north or south. We expected a huge swing in temperatures for our viewing area, from the upper 60's in fart northern Vilas County, to the middle 80's in Juneau and Adams Counties. That part of the forecast happened, we had almost a 20 degree spread in highs for Tuesday from north to south across the area.
However, the front only moved into the Lincoln/Langlade County line area... which meant my forecasted high of 72 for Wausau was going to go out the door rather quickly... and by 2:15 pm yesterday I was revising the forecast for this area to move it up to 80 degrees. Wausau ended up with 79.
The thing that really bothers me about it (and I have been kicking myself over this today) ... first and foremost, is I let you the viewer/reader down... I am not sure what my train of thinking was yesterday, but I know it was not "good". This time of year, the jet stream during the day and night, can move fronts all by itself, irregardless of pressure systems... and I should have looked into the diurnal low level jet stream more than I did, for that would have shown this front would wiggle north of the Wausau area.
With that as we say in the business.. tomorrow is a new day....
