Afraid of the Doctor ?

Posted: Wed 5:30 PM, Oct 01, 2008
Anyone else afraid of the doctor ?  I'm not one to be afraid to go see a doctor for an ailment, especially if I know I may need some "help" or a diagnosis on what may be ailing me.

This next time, I am.  You see, I stood up from my desk the other day and walked into the control room to return a tape and when I stood up, I felt a small pop in my knee and suddenly my knee didn't feel 100% stable.  After all the years of football through college, I was "lucky" enough to have escaped without a knee injury... common for Offensive Linemen at some point in their careers.  I had a shattered fibula which required surgery for a leg plate (which later had to be removed, screws backed themselves out over the years)... but I never had a major surgery... and now you know why I'm concerned.   I feel like a "wimp" that I may have done something by just standing up... even though I know those kinds of injuries happen all the time.

I will be honest with you, I'm probably too much of a worry wart on this and I am assuming the worst, but I've really never heard of a "minor" knee injury before.

The good news is, it's not really that painful, not too swollen and I can do a lot of movement without pain and discomfort.  The bad news is, I'm in Bill and Katie's wedding this weekend, so of course the last thing I wanna do is go to the doctor's office now, in case the worst has to happen...

I'm interested in hearing your stories....
