July 1, 2008.... a sad day for me...

As I write this latest blog topic... I'm actually rather sad for quite a few reasons today.... I won't go into everything that has me down today, but I'll give you 2 things that are keeping me down at this time.  For anyone who knows me... they know it takes a lot to get me down.. so here they are....

1--As I've mentioned in my previous blog topic, I've been lucky enuff to have had a small role in Central Wisconsin Children's Theater production of  Disney's "A High School Musical", which has been at the Grand Theater the last few days.  I can NOT say enough about the job the cast and crew has done over the last several months.  I've only been with them the past few weeks and I'm already sad that I won't be around these talented people in the same capacity probably after tonight.

To the crew: THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for inviting me into your production.   You've done a great job and I hope my phone will ring again in the future to help out.

To the cast:  I'm sorry I haven't had much of a chance to get to know you all better in the past few weeks... you are all wonderful individuals and I know that this will NOT be the last production for y'all as you continue in your lives and careers and wherever that may take you.  Y'all have been awesometastic to me over the past weeks and I can NOT say it enuff... how much I appreciate you !   I will miss you guys.... keep in touch and let me know how Port Washington goes!  If there's anything I can ever do for y'all... just lemme know-- including pushing your wheel chair "Jack Scott", calling you Michael Bolton and not Troy, or changing my sunglasses every performance just to keep things interesting.... I will miss ya!

2--Another thing keeping me down today,,, it is Alison Struve's last day at the station today.  I am losing this fantabulous young woman to her hometown of Green Bay (tv station) .... I really don't know where to begin with this lovely and talented person... she has been my rock through the trying days, she has been my right hand "man" so to speak, she has been the sister I never had, she has been my lunch partner when I needed the company, she has been my towel holder (Polar Plunge in February), she has an unique affinity with manatees, she has a "kind of" crazy cat, she has been someone that can get me to smile even on the bad days ... and she has a great and bright future ahead of her.  I know I will miss her dearly.. but I am happy that she is returning home to work and continue to grow in her career.

Hi Chad, Sorry to hear that you are feeling down in the dumps. I know the feeling. Just remember that you have a lot of loyal fans. When you're not on the noon show I don't even feel like watching it. Keep up the good work and please stay with us. We're all behind you.

Thank you for the encouraging words. It doesn't happen often, but when I'm down, I'm down.
I spent most of the weekend up north with the Stern family (thanks surrogate family!) and am rejuvinated and recharged for the upcoming week! Have a great weekend and week!

Hey Chad, Saw you last night in HSM, and you were great, actually the entie show was great!!! Wow what talent in Central WI. We totally enjoyed it. I can see why you will miss the cast and crew.

I know there's a saying about small roles in the theater... only small people? Something like that... well, I'm not small and I had a small role. LOL In any case... I can't stop saying enough how much I enjoyed my time with these great people.
If you're headed to fishdays at Port Washington in a few weeks, they're the musical act on stage down there. A very UNIQUE honor to say the least. Break a leg gang... although not you Bobby, you already did that.

Hi Chad - I got to watch the "good-bye" this noon as we're back here to help Alison move. It looks like you two have a great time together - I know she's enjoyed getting to know you. People are telling us we picked the best week (weather-wise) of the whole summer to be back here. I'm enjoying the low humidity compared to the Chesapeake Bay area where we left the boat. Take care /es

I will miss your daughter very much... but I also know I will get to see her again.. I borrowed her crazy sunglasses for High School Musical! I hope you're enjoying the sailing ... sure sounds like a lot of fun! Gimme a call if you need some help getting her moved!

Is there something more going on between you and Allison? YOu guys would make a cute couple if there were. . . . .

Nope... just good friends. I will miss this girl... right now she's taking pictures before she leaves the building. Where's security when I need them? LOL

Posted by: Anonymous A sad day for everyone Chad, we will miss Alison. Chad, please don't ever leave us. We would be lost without you.

I'm typing this as I work my last hour with Alison ... I just don't know what it's going to be like after a week or two goes by and she's not here. However, I've gone through 2 noon co-anchors now since joining the big "SAW... and the show will go on. I'm sure they'll find someone to "suffer" through working 30 minutes a day with me. LOL Me leave? Naaaahhhh, notice the news person comes and works with me and then leaves... if I left, what fun would that be? Alison will be missed, there's no doubting that.
