well that cool pay their debt ,sure when a job is found pay back the tax payer all the money that it cost to house and give them the education ,like i am trying to do for my kids, i did not get it for free, Posted by: Anonymous Location: Wausau By putting someone in jail, the intention is for the offender to pay their debt to society, do we really want to burden them for the rest of their lives by depriving them of an education? This increases their chance of reoffending. Think of the money we thrown away on children in the school system (public and private) where the majority don't appreciate or value their opportunity for an education. Many of these offenders are a product of their dysfunctional families and environment, maybe this is the opportunity they need. Granted cold blooded murders and pedophiles, their keys should be thrown away. Posted by: Keith Location: expressions45@yahoo.com These idiots cost us enough money. Most of them should be stuffed in overcrowded cells to sleep in their own filth. There is an education for them. Then maybe they would think twice about re-offending. The only reason most of them do anything offered is so they don't have to stay in their cells all day. Sorry to the small percentage that do learn their lesson and come out a productive and positive person, but the majority don't care about anyone but their poor pitiful selves. And as far as the rapist, murderers, child molesters, and wife and child beaters....I think you lost all your rights. All of you guys better be glad glad someone like me isn't in charge. |
