Peace Sculpture Unveiling Friday

WSAW Staff

The city of Wausau is holding a dedication Nov. 20 at noon for the peace sculpture created by Egyptian foreign exchange student Moustafa Saleh. On hand for the dedication at Wausau’s Whitewater Park will be Mayor Jim Tipple, Northcentral Technical College President Lori Weyers, Egyptian Consul General Mona Seoudy and Richard Riley from the U.S. Department of State. The sculpture will be a steel globe carried by a dove. The wings of the dove will be inscribed with the word “peace” — in English on one side and in Egyptian on the other. The sculpture will be placed at the intersection of River Drive, Washington Street and First Street. The event begins at noon at the Wausau River Drive Complex, 212 River Drive.
