Wrecking crews have demolished the northern Wisconsin home where six young people died in a shooting rampage by an off-duty deputy sheriff.
The demolition of the white, two-story house just off downtown Crandon began about 5 this morning and organizers say the work will be done and the debris hauled away before noon.
Eight months ago, Tyler Peterson went to the home where Jordanne Murray lived and argued with her before getting an assault rifle from his pickup truck and opening fire on the young people attending a party.
The 20-year-old Peterson killed himself hours later as police efforts to get him to surrender failed.
The families of the victims are raising money to build a Fountain of Youth Memorial on the site of the home.
