MARSHFIELD, Wis. (AP) -- The sole survivor of a shooting that left seven other young people dead is making medical progress.
The condition of 21-year-old Charlie Neitzel has been upgraded to good today at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Neitzel was shot three times - once in the right leg, once in the right upper arm and once in the shoulder.
He has had several surgeries at St. Joseph's.
Neitzel survived the shooting rampage by sheriff's Deputy Tyler Peterson October 7 by playing dead after he was shot.
Peterson killed his ex-girlfriend and five other acquaintances before apparently taking his own life.
A funeral Mass for one of the victims, 17-year-old Katrina McCorkle, was held today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crandon.
