NewsChannel 7 got a birdseye view of the damage left by Thursday's tornadoes.

Four twisters ripped through at least six counties Thursday, according to preliminary reports from the National Weather Service.

Meteorologists from the NWS are surveying areas such as near the Highway 153-County Road J intersection in Marathon County to guage the tornadoes' intensity.

"It looked like it could have been several hundred yards wide, but that's preliminary - a wild guess at this point," says NWS meteorologist Gary Austin. "It was probably moving at 50 to 60 miles per hour, maybe faster because that's how storms were moving yesterday."

Preliminary results rate the tornado as an EF2, with wind speeds from 115mph to 125mph. The tornado was on the ground for 7.3 miles and its damage path was approximately 250 yards wide.

The NWS estimates that the twister that leveled the Bear Paw Resort traveled 36 miles and traveled through at least three counties.
